Moth experts visit, July 21 & 22
baseline survey
9pm – 11pm Morrow Mountain State Park Lodge

posted: 7/14/2015

Morrow Mountain State Park will host moth experts next week. The main reason this group of moth experts will be here is to begin performing a baseline survey of moths found at the park. While we are identifying those species of moths that inhabit the park, we will take the opportunity to educate campers and the public about this very large group of mostly nocturnal, and often beautiful, insects. We will keep the gates open until 11:00 pm, to let the public out of the park if they want to come out and learn about moths.

Join experts for an evening of MOTH IDENTIFICATION at Morrow Mountain State Park. Meet at the Park Office/Lodge at 9p.m. for a brief introduction to moths, then help us check light traps to locate and identify moths. We may take a short hike to check bait stations, so bring a head lamp and your camera!

Contact Brian Bockhahn with any questions.
