enjoy the music then stay for the meeting

Enjoy listening to John Denver music? If so, be sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. The Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park will be hosting a performance, featuring performing artist, Mac Johnson. There is no admission charge for the event, however, donations are appreciated. All proceeds will support programs and projects to benefit the park. Light refreshments will be served, so come and take a seat by the fire and enjoy the afternoon. A meeting of the Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park will begin at 4 p.m. following the performance. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Mac Johnson is a Mississippi native, and began playing the guitar at age 11. His great-grandfather and grandfather both performed at the Grand Ole Opry, and according to Johnson, “At an early age, I would sit on the floor and listen to my grandfather play.” That served as his inspiration and love for music, and before long, he was also performing as a young boy on local stages. One of his greatest musical influences is folk legend, John Denver. Mac loves playing small venues where he says he can relate to his audience, and will be performing many of John Denver’s selections that afternoon. The mission of the Friends group is to support and promote Morrow Mountain State Park for the benefit of the general public. For additional information, call Vanessa Mullinix at 704-985-2151.
