1. Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park volunteers planted grass and mulched the front entrance to the Lodge. They also over-seeded and fertilized the front lawn of the pool. Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park provided all the equipment and the mulch. The sites look a whole lot better.
2. Trail volunteers spent two days preparing fire lines for anticipated controlled burns
3. Trail volunteers installed a large culvert on a heavily eroded section of the Quarry Trail. This project has really accomplished its goal of removing water from the trail and improving the integrity of the trail tread.
4. Purchase of a new archival computer and have moved/are in the process of moving archive files from an antiquated Mac to the new computer.
5. Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park members were instrumental in getting the ball rolling on the purchase of 50+ beautifully wooded creekside acres adjacent to the southern boundary of the state park and Mountain Creek. This advocacy got the DPR Land Acquisition staff and The Land Trust for Central NC together and working toward property acquisition and protection at MOMO. These negotiations have also resulted in a renewed emphasis on the State purchasing the 5 acre Speight Property from The Land Trust for Central NC and place that property into Morrow Mountain State Park.
6. Provided a $575.00 scholarship to Ranger Murvine to attend a bow making class. Ranger Murvine is extremely knowledgeable about Native Americans and their tools, and this class will make him a better educator and interpreter of the cultural resources here at Morrow Mountain State Park.
7. Sponsored a very successful Geology Hike in November with 38 participants.
8. Ken Knight led the annual "First Day Hike" on January 1st with 45 participants

11. Sponsored the Riding High on Morrow Mountain Bike Rally for fund raising
