Morrow Mountain State Park (704) 982-4402 The Uwharrie Mountains and Yadknin/Pee Dee River System have attracted people to settle here for thousands of years. This area has been referred to as "North Carolina's Cradle of Civilization" because of its many pre-historic archaeological sites. Morrow Mountain State Park will be offering a Powerpoint presentation on the area's first peoples and archaeological significance. It will be followed by demonstrations of Native American skills including: flintknapping, firemaking, and the use of an atlatl.

Lets celebrate KIDS TO PARKS DAY by bringing your kids age K-4 and we will discover how animals share some basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and space by using a map and exploring their surroundings.

We will meet at the Morrow Mountain State Park, Lower Picnic Area.

Kids must be accompanied by adult.

Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing, hiking shoes, and use bug spray.
