We will meet at the office parking lot at 9 a.m. on January 10. The project we will undertake is dependent upon the number of participants. We hope to expand upon the efforts of the December workday and continue to clear sections of trail and access roads that will serve as fire control lines during planned prescribed burns.
Work will likely include blowing and raking of leaves, trimming of limbs and vegetation in or along trails, brush removal, sawing and removing downed trees, and elimination of snags or hazard trees along trails. Leaf blowers, rakes, pruning shears, and pole saws will be among the tools used. A park staff member will be operating a chainsaw.
Dress for the weather and to work outside. If you have work gloves, safety glasses and ear plugs please bring them. We also recommend you bring drinking water and snacks.
Thanks to everyone that supports the park and has helped make our trail workdays a success.
