August 28th Meeting a Success

The new bylaws have been approved with 4 official yes votes and one verbal approval.
Vanessa Mullinix chaired the meeting and spoke about the importance of membership and some goals of our new 'Friends of MMSP' group.
John D. Young spoke about the approved bylaws and how we are now under the umbrella of Friends of State Parks. The aerial photos of MMSP along with some views of the Yadkin and the Pee Dee, the Falls Reservoir and the Hardaway Site were well received.
About 35 were in attendance and 23 people officially joined and several others said they would.
Walter Deppe spoke about Old Fashioned Day and had a good number of volunteers.
The Stanly News and Press had a reporter in attendance.
Our next meeting to elect officers and directors is Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 pm at the MMSP Lodge.
