On February 24, 2008, Stony Hill United Methodist Church honored one of its long time members who will be moving to a Retirement Home next month. During the service, UMW District and Local Unit UMW president, Pat Mills, honored Mrs. Eunice Plyler with special recognition. In her remarks she said: "The Stony Hill United Methodist Women would like to present you with a special Mission Recognition Pin. This means that a gift to Missions has been made in your honor.

"Over the years you have been a faithful supporter of the United Methodist women with your whole heart and soul. You have served as past president several times and have held many other offices. You are one that has always been ready to give a helping hand wherever it was needed.

"We are going to miss you. But we will have many pleasant memories of a wonderful lady to hold on in our hearts. Our love and prayers are with you."

Pastor Mary then invited all present to the Fellowship Hall for a luncheon in Mrs. Plyler's honor. Her family and former co-workers along with the congregation enjoyed a bountiful lunch.
