Who was your first teacher? Randy Wheeless

 

What is your favorite color? Yellow

 

What is your favorite kind of food? Pasta

 

What is your favorite drink? Mountain Dew

 

Who is your favorite writer? J.R.R. Tolkien

 

What was the most interesting book you have ever read? "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown

 

What is your all-time favorite movie? Constantine

 

Who is your favorite actor? I have too many to pick one favorite. One of my all-time favorites is Harrison Ford.

 

And your favorite actress? Probably Kate Beckinsale

 

Do you have a favorite painter or artist? Not really, though I do like Amy Brown

 

What is the best chess game you have ever played? I've had some good games – even very good games – but I don't think the best has come yet. One of my very good games was versus FM Daniel Tapia. I was probably winning but drew instead.

 

What is your best result ever? Winning the North Carolina Scholastic State Championship in 8th Grade

 

Is there a chess book that had a profound influence on you?  None have had a profound influence on me, though I have used "Reassess your chess" many times.

 

Who is your favorite chess player of all time? It's hard to say, but two of my favorites are Paul Morphy and Mikhail Tal.

 

What is your best character trait? My kindness

 

Do you have a dream? A cure for autism

 

What is your greatest fear? Losing a family member

 

Do you believe in the future of chess? Of course
